District Plan: How can I set up SSO?

Written by Rebecca Worden

If your district has purchased a district license for Curipod, setting up single sign-on (SSO) for your teachers with Clever or ClassLink is included in your subscription.

Note: SSO is only available with full district subscriptions.

How SSO works with Curipod

Single-sign on (SSO) for teachers is available with Google (no setup required), Clever, or ClassLink. Students don't have user accounts in Curipod, so no SSO is required for them - they join Curipod lessons by going to https://curi.live/ and entering the lesson PIN. (Although student SSO is available for Texas districts with access to student performance tracking over time.)

Things to be aware of when setting up SSO with Clever or ClassLink:

  • Because only teachers have user accounts in Curipod, the only data that you need to share with us are Schools and Teachers (Clever) / Orgs and Users with teacher roles (ClassLink).

    • You don't need to share Terms, Courses, Sections, or Contacts with us (Clever) or Courses, Classes, Enrollments, Demographics, or Resources (ClassLink). If you do share this with us, we don't use this data.

  • Curipod doesn't proactively roster teacher users when you sync data. (This means that you don't need to worry about all your teachers getting an email about their Curipod accounts at the same time!)

    • If a teacher doesn't have a Curipod user account already, their account is created the first time they log in via Clever or ClassLink.

    • If a teacher has a Curipod user account already, then as long as that account is associated to the same email address they use with Clever/ClassLink, their login method will be updated when they log in via Clever or ClassLink for the first time.

  • We recommend creating a custom tile for students in Clever / on the student ClassLink launchpad that links to https://curi.live/. This reduces confusion for students because they are accessing Curipod via their normal Clever / ClassLink workflows.

SSO with Clever

Ask your Clever admin (or IT team) to find Curipod in the Clever library and send a request to connect.

The Curipod team is notified when a district makes a request, so they will review the request and send sharing rules (if necessary). Once your district accepts the sharing rules, you'll be all set! Your Curipod success manager will confirm when this has been completed.

Your teachers will then be able to sign up/log in to Curipod via Clever, or use the Clever sign-in option at www.curipod.com.

SSO with ClassLink

Ask your ClassLink admin (or IT team) to follow these directions:

  1. In ClassLink, find and add Curipod from the global application library in the management console.

  2. Then, in Roster Server, enable data sharing so that Curipod can fetch Orgs and Users (teacher roles).

  3. Ensure that the data connection status for Curipod is set to “enabled.”

Need help? These ClassLink articles may be useful (note that you must be logged in to ClassLink to access):

Curipod is not notified when a district connects with us on ClassLink, so please ask your ClassLink admin to confirm to your Curipod success manager that they have completed the steps above.

Curipod will then complete setup on their side and confirm back that this has been done.

Your teachers will then be able to sign up/log in to Curipod via ClassLink, or use the ClassLink sign-in option at www.curipod.com.
